1. Take a hike

​Visitors to Crows Nest will be spoilt for choice with a number of hikes and tracks. Why not try Applegum walk? The 1.5km track follows the Crows Nest Creek, winding through colossal trees and is a hit with bird watchers hoping to spot some wildlife.

2. Picnic at one of the region's many breathtaking lookouts

While a picturesque view isn’t hard to find in this beautiful region, they don’t get much better than a visit to the Gus Beutel lookout located 20 mins away from Crows Nest in the Ravensbourne National Park.

3. Take a trip to one of the local dams

Only a short drive from Crows Nest, families and individuals can find a number of dams ideal for boating, picnicking and wildlife spotting. Lake Cressbrook is a popular choice for fishing, rowing and observing wildlife. 4. Visit the Crows Nest Falls

The Black Forest Hill Cuckoo Clock Centre is a short drive to Cabarlah on the New England Highway. The store is one of the largest of its kind in Australia and has been running for 25 years. Be enchanted by hundreds of authentic clocks, souvenirs and folk music.

9. Visit the surrounding towns

Only a 20 minute drive from Crows Nest lies Highfields, small town filled with boutiques, cafes and artisan goods. For anyone feeling more adventurous, Toowoomba is only a 40 min drive away from Crows Nest. The Garden city annually hosts its ‘Carnival of Flowers' festival, lasting a week in September. ​
