How To Introduce Camping To Your Family

Picture

While camping is a great, fun activity for all ages, it may never seem like the ‘perfect time’ to introduce camping to your young families. We get it, taking your family camping for the first time can feel like a huge challenge, but it doesn’t have to be that way; with the right planning, your first time camping as a family can be a breeze, meaning you can spend more time enjoying yourself.

Pick Your Accomodation

The most important element in any camping trip is the location. Only a 40 minute from Toowoomba, the Crows Nest Tourist Park is easily accessible by car from Toowoomba meaning no more “are we there yet” questions from the back seat. What’s even more impressive than its accessibility, is the nearby kid-friendly activities that make it the ideal place to entertain your young ones.

Have a Back-Up Plan

On any camping trip, especially a first one, things won’t always go right. However, with the right planning, you can reduce the impact (and toddler meltdowns) that might arise. Your attempt at a camp oven was a total flop? The Crows Nest Tourist Park has an equipped camp kitchen, or even better, try out the on-site Hidden Cocina Cafe to provide you with dine in or takeaway.

Work Your Way Up to It

While it would be great to dive straight into building tents and cooking over the open fire, we know it doesn’t always work that way. The Crows Nest Tourist Park features different accommodation options for you and your family. From Powered, Ensuite, Non-Powered Sites or even Cabin options, (ideal for grandparents who want to join in) it’s the perfect way for families who are nervous about introducing kids to the full camping experience right away.

Just Do it!

You’re never going to get better if you don’t try! It might take a few tries to get it right, but we can promise you won’t regret it. The Crows Nest Tourist Park is the ideal place to start, and gives you a trip to always look up to.

The Crows Nest Tourist Park is located at 7558 New England Highway, Crows Nest, Queensland 4355.
