Things to do while staying at Crows Nest Tourist Park.

Eating out with children can be a stressful and tiring experience, unless of course you visit places they can also enjoy.  There are plenty of child-friendly dining destinations within 40 minutes drive of Crows Nest Tourist Park.

We would recommend starting the day off at…

Breakfast at Emeraude, Hampton (20 minutes drive)

A ‘Micro Region Eatery’ in the very beautiful Hampton, Emeraude use locally-sourced ingredients.  The Afghani Eggs (below) are delicious and feature free range ‘K Farm’ eggs poached in butter and local Hampton lime juice, Turkish toast smothered with hummus and finished with garlic yogurt, house blend of roast spiced seeds and nuts and Crows Nest garden mint.

Open from 9am Thursday and Friday and 8am on weekends, the outdoor area is best for families with young children so that they are free to move around and play.  We would recommend booking a table as it does get very busy.  To book, please visit their Facebook Page.

After such a wonderful breakfast, you won’t feel hungry until lunch!  Just down the road from Emeraude, is the Hampton Blue Organic Farm.  You can book a Farm Tour at  Hampton Blue, an organic blueberry and raspberry orchard situated at Hampton.  This is a wonderful experience for children to either pick their own berries or wander around the farm.  Book a Farm Tour by contacting them on their website before you visit.

Alternatively, head back Crows Nest way to  Bunnyconnellen, an Olive Grove and Vineyard set in the high country of Crows Nest.  With Cellar Door tastings and gourmet cafe on Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 4pm, there is plenty of room for the children to run around.  Visit their website for information on the ‘Machinery Shed’ Cellar Door.

Head back to our onsite cafe for lunch, The Curly Carrot
